We have had a number of visitors staying with us this month including a team from New Zealand, an adoptive family from the US, members of Love Without Boundaries and a large group of teenagers from Dulwich College Beijing. We also had a social visit from the medical staff at Beijing United Family Hospital. It was good to be able to host them and show how much we truly appreciate their dedication to our children.
Hope Healing Home, Beijing
Sofia returned after heart surgery in Hangzhou and continues to do well.
We admitted 4 new children this month. DF Lin and DF Jing with clubbed feet from Shandong province and FR Feng and FY Feng from Henan province with heart conditions. So far, the investigations show that FR Feng may be inoperable but we will get a second opinion before we make any further decisions.

Adoptions
Eddie and Julia have left us for adoption. We will miss them both very much.

Maria’s Big House of Hope
(formerly known as “Shaohannah’s Hope Healing Home”)
Progress continues on Maria’s Big House of Hope and Rob is pleased with the way the internal fixtures are going. No comments of the color of the external walls of the building please. This was out of our control and besides, the way I look at it is, what goes on for the children within the walls is more important than the color of the walls.
Love Without Boundaries Shunyi Outreach Foster Program
Joseph (due for surgery in Hong Kong), Ethan (diarrhea and an ear infection), and Hugo (diarrhea) were brought back in–house.
NHF Special Care Units, Jiaozuo, Luoyang and Xin Yang, Henan Province (75 beds)
These units provide humane and loving, hospice care for infants and young children with severe congenital defects who are unlikely to survive under normal circumstances. Those who survive are unexpected blessings.
Jiaozuo
Mike was admitted this month and FR Feng was transferred to Beijing.
Luoyang
Lana, Clark, Lois, Lex, Lebron, Dwight, Rihanna, and Dwayne were admitted. Assunta was admitted and sent straight to Zhengzhou with an obstructed bowel. Surgery was successful but unfortunately she died in the Intensive Care Unit. Lois, Carol, and Clark also passed away peacefully.
Xin Yang
There were no new admissions to this unit this month. Wilson was sent to Zhengzhou hospital where he was found to have an anal malformation as well as an abnormal connection between his rectum and his bladder. He is expected to have 2 surgeries to repair his defects.
Love Without Boundaries Heartbridge Rehabilitation Unit (18 beds)
Susan (Jia) in the US had successful heart surgery and is also doing very well. You may remember that Susan was deemed inoperable at one point but God obviously had different plans for her. We are so grateful to all those who have been part of this miracle. We are hoping that adoption is the next step for her.
We had 2 new admissions to this unit this month. HJ Hu was admitted but passed away within 24 hours despite our efforts. ZZ Jian is doing well.
HJ Xiang was admitted to Beijing United Family Hospital because of repeated vomiting. He has settled down now and is putting on weight slowly but steadily.
The US Olympic team for more donations which we have distributed to 2 other charitable organizations as there was much more than we needed.
Our Needs
Several of our children are scheduled for different surgeries and or investigations in the next few months. The costs are average and include transport and a caregiver for the child.
FY Feng (heart surgery $7000)
FR Feng (heart investigation $1000)
Wilson (bowel and bladder repair $1000)
Justin (heart surgery in Singapore, $1200)
Matthew (bowel surgery $650)
Adam (bowel surgery $650)
Rudy (hernia repair $650)
We are in need of volunteer nurses able to give us at least 1 month of their time to help us in our ever expanding ministry.
With the recent economic problems in the US our donations towards running costs have declined. While we put our faith completely in God for our needs, if we don’t ask, we will not receive.
Please help us in this area if you can. Every little bit counts and goes a long way.
With our deepest gratitude,
Joyce and Robin Hill
