Volunteer application forms are not necessary for volunteers living in Beijing wanting to come out on a daily basis. |

Volunteers need to provide their own transport. We can provide instructions for drivers and taxis on request. It takes about 1 hour by car to get to our place from the city center. |
| |
|
| • |
Taxis to our place are expensive and you will need to reserve them for the whole day as there are no taxis out of our village. |

You will not be permitted to feed, bathe or change the young babies as these are the nanny’s duties and are very important for the wellbeing of the baby. You may be able to help feed the older children (above 2 years) if they are familiar with you. |

As casual volunteers, your duties will be limited to playing with the toddlers, singing and reading to them. Balloons, bubbles and chalk for sidewalk drawings are appreciated by the toddlers. We have a playground, sand pits and a swimming pool for when the weather is appropriate. |

Please advise the Home at least 24 hours before your proposed visit so that the staff can plan your work schedule if appropriate. |
| |
|
| • |
If you are ill, please do not come, as even minor infections can spread rapidly through the children. |
| |
|
| • |
As the Home is only a small facility, please limit your group to only 2 -3 volunteers (working indoors) at a time. |

Larger groups wanting to do outdoor projects are welcome. Please contact robin@hopefosterhome.com. |

If you have children of your own, they are certainly welcome as long as they do not disrupt the babies’ routine. Please limit the number of children you bring to only 1 or 2 if you are working in the Home. You may bring as many as you like with you if you are taking our children on an outing, or working outdoors. |
