Non-Medical Volunteers

PDF
PDF

August 2007

Non-medically-trained volunteers can be posted to any of our Units, depending on your length of stay, maturity and skills. All we ask is that you be willing to serve wherever the need is greatest.

You will not be asked to do any work that you feel uncomfortable with or unqualified to do but we do expect you to do your best with the duties you have been assigned.

Some examples of the duties you may be asked to carry out are:

•  Administrative

•  Preschool

•  One-on-one constructive play with the children

•  Transporting children within the country

•  Caring for children in the hospitals within the country or overseas

•  Scrapbooking

We do not encourage you to bring children under the age of 15 with you. If you must, this will seriously limit your ability to be a valuable volunteer to our organization. You will be fully responsible for the care of your own children and they must be supervised by you at all times.
